Great place to ski for a quick trip. There are two separate parking areas and shuttle buses that run all day. Not crowded and no waiting for the lift; perfect. Full review by Donna P
We are planning to snowboard at Loveland and there is a bit of snow forecasted 1-2". We are coming from West Denver, will there be any issue in a front wheel drive vehicle?

We are thinking of flying to Denver and snowboarding at Loveland for two days, would this be advisable for such a short time and would anyone have any tips or suggestions? We have not been to Colorado.

Loveland is a great little "gem" with excellent skiing/riding choices without the "glitz" of the big resorts. Due to limits on daily visits, be SURE to purchase your day tickets in advance. Go here to their website to check availability. All restaurants are closed, but there is a "grab & go" tent. Maybe best to bring your own food. Suggest everyone except driver put boots on before leaving for area. There's nowhere to sit and change. Loveland has 2 separate areas for skiing/riding served by a shuttle bus that runs between them continuously. The Valley for less experienced or beginning individuals and the Basin for those that are more advanced. If in doubt, start at Valley and ride the shuttle over to the Basin later. Parking will be easier at Valley as well. I wouldn't bother with Echo Mountain. Loveland has a good amount of interesting terrain open with many choices from beginner to advanced. The expert terrain isn't open yet. As over 50% of the terrain is above tree line, dress appropriately. If wind is blowing and weather is difficult go to the Valley or stay on the lower lifts at the Basin Know that Loveland is well over 10,000'. So acclimate a day or so before arriving to minimize any effects of altitude sickness. Enjoy your trip and stay safe. Chris Dorton resident of Silverthorne.
