A permanent reminder of the Great Fire of 1666, the Monument commemorates one of the most significant events in London’s history. Standing on the piazza between Fish Street Hill and Monument Street, the 202ft column designed by Sir Christopher Wren and Dr Robert Hooke celebrates the City which rose from the ashes.

A great way to see London and support this historic monument. Over 300 steps so not for the faint hearted. My legs ached afterwards but well worth it. Full review by Katie C

I came with a friend and her 7 year old on a clear but windy day a bit before sunset. It takes about 5 minutes to climb the stairs at a fairly leisurely pace if you are reasonably fit. The views were… Full review by sheepygold

There isn’t much space at the bottom. You could leave bags in a box. I think people left pushchairs outside? It’s probably best to call them?

Had a look at the Monument's website. According to the website, it's closed for essential maintenance work until further notice. So no word yet when it'll reopen. I hope this helps!
