Glidden is a town in Carroll County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,151 at the time of the 2020 census. Glidden was laid out as a town in 1866. It was named either for Capt. W. T. Glidden, a railroad promoter, or in honor of Joseph Farwell Glidden, the inventor of barbed wire.
