I drove by there today on our way up to Nederland, Ward and a drive on the Peak to Peak highway, and yes it is still closed and will be for some time to come. There was considerable damage done to in that area and all the way up to Estes Park. They are doing a lot of work, but the damage in some areas was total. There are still adventurous souls that walk by the gates, and up the trail, but that is something I cannot recommend, for obvious reasons. But …. the falls are only one minute portion of the majestic beauty that is all around. The peaks are covered in snow as are the Flatirons ( take the drive up to NCAR to see magnificent vistas). The weather has been in the 60's - 80's for the past few weeks and just unbelievable for hiking and mountain climbing and myriad other outdoor events that Boulder is known for.
