It is a very beautiful cenote. You have to go down 72 steps and reach a beautiful cave. The best thing is that you will be almost alone unlike others.Full review by MARIFLOR C

It was magical, the way the light filtered through and the ensuing reflections of the water on the cave walls was mesmerizing. Water was just the right temperature, swimming was so refreshing you di…Full review by L3899PSmicheleb
Do you have to be part of a tour group to see this cenote? Or can you purchase entrance ticket, rent life jackets, and just visit on your own? Thanks.

hello, As seniors with arthritis (hip and knees), how easy or difficult is it to get in and out of the water? Are there hand railings along the stairway all he way to the water? If we choose not to swim, are there places to sit and enjoy the cenote and observe ? We are leaving in 3 days to Cancun and plan to stop here after Coba Ruins. We are very excited ! Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer. It will be greatly appreciated.

This is a very relaxed and quiet cenote. I don't think you will have much trouble getting in and out. There is a spiral staircase going down I can't remember if it has a handrail but there is a center post all the way down you can use to keep your balance. At the bottom is a nice large deck with steps that ease into the water. The deck is large and if I remember right there are benches built into it. My wife doesn't swim all the best so she brought an inner tube which she really enjoyed so she could explore the whole cenote with out worrying about saving enough energy to swim back to the deck. I have been to several cenotes and this is one of our favorite. I think you will really enjoy it. You can take your time and not worry about tour guides trying to shuffle large groups in and out the whole time you are there.
Hey, fellow travelers.Just wondering if it is possible to get to Coba & Multum Ha Cenote independantly from Playa del Carmen,or would it be better to do it in a tour? Thanks,in advance, for any input.

Hi- it is possible to get there if renting a car. The road that leads to the cenote has new re-done and no longer has potholes. Skip Grand Cenote it is a tourist trap. In Coba make sure you go out to the largest site first. Upon entering there will be a small pyramid that guides will try to get you to stay at. I recomend that you immediately go to the pedi- cab station and head out to the grand pyramid.
