Most of the Carolina Forest wildfire remains contained —and soaking rains on March 10 helped — but state officials say the county is not out of the woods yet.

As of Sunday evening, the 1600-acre fire in Carolina Forest is 30% contained, according to the South Carolina Forestry Commission.

Monday's rain is expected to help crews contain the 2,059-acre wildfire that has burned in Carolina Forest for nearly 10 days, state and local officials said.
