An armed robbery that turned into a shooting involving a Clarke County deputy on Tuesday is under investigation, according to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

The GBI is investigating the shooting of an armed robbery suspect on Tuesday by a Clarke County sheriff's deputy.

Both suspects in the armed robbery and pursuit were taken into custody, authorities said. Medical treatment was also given.
