Early Friday morning, local time, Israel launched dozens of strikes against Iran and declared a state of emergency, according to Defense Minister Israel Katz.
The strike comes after President Donald Trump said the U.S. was "fairly close" to reaching a nuclear deal with Iran.
The U.S. embassy is warning all federal employees and family members in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza to shelter in place.
Israel pummeled Iran overnight Thursday, launching its largest-ever military operation against its regional rival and upending President Trump’s push for a nuclear deal with Tehran. The U.S.
Iranian air defenses were sabotaged by Mossad agents who had smuggled drones and other explosives into Iran, then used them to take out missile systems and other sites as the strikes began, Israel officials told Nextgov’s David DiMolfetta in Jerusalem. A bit more on that, here.

"Hezbollah is committed to the ceasefire agreement, even though Israel has not respected this commitment over the past period," the spokesperson said. "It continues to kill, assassinate, and attack areas, including entering border villages and remaining at the five points."
Israel released video of it striking Iranian ballistic missiles they say were aimed at its civilians. The strikes come after the Mossad carried out covert operations inside Iran.
