State, county and city crews are preparing as much as possible, even before the snow begins to fall. The National Weather Service says it could come as early as 8 a.m. Jan. 10, though the winter storm warning doesn't start until 10 a.m.

A winter storm warning has been issued for all of Middle Tennessee. While most areas could receive between three to six inches of snow on Friday, some areas could see as much as seven inches.

The storm will bring "widespread snow accumulations" with a mixture of sleet and freezing rain possible south of Interstate 40 with "light ice accumulation possible."
