Nunez is the highest-ranked prospect of the three as the Mets’ No. 14 player in the farm system before the trade, per MLB Pipeline. The 24-year-old was originally drafted in 2019 by the Padres in the 29th round as an infielder and played in San Diego’s pipeline for two years before being released.
