La France Insoumise gathered in Paris to express concern for the activists aboard a boat headed to Gaza, including Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg and La France Insoumise Member of the European Parliament Rima Hassan.

France's Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot on Thursday confirmed four French nationals who sailed on a Gaza-bound aid boat would be deported back to France on Thursday or Friday .

Hassan entered politics with the left-wing party La France Insoumise and was elected to the European Parliament on June 9, 2024.

Two of the six French nationals present on the Gaza-bound aid ship had already agreed to return to France on Tuesday, while the remaining four, including French-Palestinian European Parliament member Rima Hassan, Pascal Maurieras, Yanis Mhamdi and Reva Viard, had rejected their expulsion.

Six of eight activists detained after Israel seized the the Gaza-bound aid ship, Madleen, on Monday have been deported.

Madleen, the humanitarian aid vessel aiming to break the Israeli blockade, has sailed off the Egyptian coast and is expected to reach Palestinian waters within a day.
