The Spurs midfielder scored the game’s only goal in the 45th minute, spotting David Raya off his line and lobbing him from a long, long way out. There was a decent tempo to the game in the first half but both sides lost their rhythm a little in the second.

The contrast with the right side of the pitch was stark. One of the major positives from Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Asia has been Ben White and Bukayo Saka rekindling their chemistry on that flank.
