Dauphin Island, Alabama, has no water parks or mini-golf courses, and only two high-rise hotels. What it does have is a more natural beach town vibe.
Dauphin Island officials are proposing a short-term rental ban on the east end of the island. If approved, the ban would only allow vacation rentals on the west end of the island.
“The East End restoration should get underway within the next couple of weeks,” said Dauphin Island Mayor Jeff Collier. “The contractors are assembling the dredge pipeline.
