It's never too late for a fresh start. One year ends and another begins as familiar faces gather to celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Midnight Diner.

Pre-pandemic, there were about 100 diners left in Nassau and Suffolk counties, one of the largest concentrations in the country according to diner expert Richard J.S. Gutman, Newsday reported in 2019.

The winner of best cafe is no real surprise for 2019. After all, the winner serves up feel-good favorites like meatloaf, macaroni and cheese and a host of other delicious dishes.
