Shafer Vineyards’ signature wine is a cabernet sauvignon, Hillside Select, which was first produced in 1983 and released in 1985, according to the complaint filed in December.
According to its complaint, Shafer produces 2,200 to 2,500 cases of its Hillside Select each year, selling at about $150 per bottle. Young Ridge cabernets sell for upwards of $60 per bottle.
