Several rounds of rain are in the Friday forecast across North Texas, with tornado chances increasing later in the day.
Showers mostly tapered Wednesday evening, and now our focus shifts to the overnight hours, as our cold front lifts back through North Texas as a warm front. A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect through 8 a.
Several rounds of rain could very well bring a flood concern. DFW and surrounding areas could pick up over 2-3 inches of rain. Storms are still likely into Saturday early afternoon but the severe threat will be lower. We look dry by the end of the weekend.
The safest place to be during a tornado is either a storm cellar or a basement. For houses without a basement or storm cellar, the safest location is the centermost part of the home on the lowest level, away from windows. Common options include bathrooms, hallways or closets beneath staircases.
