A powerful storm system that tore across the United States in recent days is winding down Monday, but in its wake are devastated communities across states hit with violent tornadoes, wildfires and dust storms spun off by the massive system.

National Guard and National Weather Service crews were dispatched to central and eastern United States after at least 52 tornadoes and wildfires in Oklahoma killed at least 44 people over the weekend.

The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down Sunday near Donegal, Westmoreland County, as severe storms barreled through Western Pennsylvania. The tornado was an EF-1, which means it had winds of between 86 and 110 mph.

The National Weather Service was out in Fayette County, near Uniontown on Tuesday surveying damage from Sunday's storms and confirmed a fifth tornado touched down. KDKA's Chris DeRose has the story.
