How a thoughtful DIY renovation of a Twin Lakes cabin created a secluded, Scandi-style getaway that’s been booked almost every night since its debut.

Located on 65 acres of private, forested land, this modern house is three hours north of the Twin Cities on a peninsula with 1.5 miles of Twin Lakes shoreline.

The May Creek, Hogan and Twin Lakes cabins rent first-come, first-served for $25 per night for the winter season, which runs from Dec. 1 to March 31.

In the early 1980s, the Harringtons built an addition on their lake home, which sits on a 140-acre parcel that abuts Twin Lake as well as Pember Lake.
