The Home Minister listed out different kinds of luxurious items and appliances that Kejriwal used in the Chief Minister's residence during his 10-year tenure in office, saying that he had never heard about some of those things.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday, accusing him of prioritizing personal luxury over public infrastructure during his nearly 10-year tenure. Shah said that Kejriwal had built a lavish "sheesh mahal" for himself instead of focusing on essential services for the capital.

A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised the issue of ''Sheesh Mahal'', Union Home Minister Amit Shah charged Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Convener Arvind Kejriwal with building a palatial home when he was the chief minister by using Delhiiites' money and said the latter needs to give an account to the people of the national capital.

The home minister said the AAP government in Delhi could not build a system to supply water to the residents, but Kejriwal spent Rs. 14 crore on a water plant for his family.

Highlighting the works done by the Central government in Delhi, Shah said infrastructure projects worth ₹68,000 crore have been executed over the past 10 years.
