Crimson Tide defense gets great news as captain Deontae Lawson is set to return for his redshirt senior season.

Former Mobile Christian football star and Alabama Crimson Tide linebacker Deontae Lawson announced he will be returning to the team in the 2025 college football season, according to Lawson’s Instagram post on Saturday.

Deontae Lawson, a redshirt junior linebacker out of Mobile, announced Saturday he would return to the Crimson Tide in 2025, joining linebacker Justin Jefferson and defensive lineman LT Overton.

Deontae Lawson shared he is not done playing with Alabama football on Saturday and will return to the Crimson Tide next season. Lawson started at inside linebacker for the Crimson Tide in 2024 before suffering a season-ending injury against Oklahoma.

Deontae Lawson is prepared to return to Alabama for 2025 where he should be an anchor for the Crimson Tide defense.
