It didn't take Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels long to connect with his new wide receiver Deebo Samuel. Washington opened training camp on Wednesday in a big way, as Daniels found Samuel with an absolutely perfect throw for a touchdown despite tight coverage from safety Tyler Owens.

Picture what Jayden Daniels can do for an encore now that he’s experienced against NFL opposition. Teammate Bobby Wagner has seen enough to imagine it and thinks the quarterback will make a big leap in 2025.

Daniels and McLaurin created a special quarterback-receiver duo on the field last season during Daniels's rookie campaign. The receiver caught 82 passes for 1,096 yards and a career-high 13 touchdowns in 2024–25. It was his fifth season in a row with at least 77 catches and 1,000 yards.
