Ukrainian officials say one person was killed and eight wounded in two major Ukrainian cities after Russia attacked the country with waves of drones and missiles.

The attack used almost 500 drones and missiles, breaking a record set just days earlier, as Russia tries to overwhelm Ukraine’s air defenses, which shot down most of the weapons.

Russia carried out "massive" drone attacks on Ukraine's capital Kyiv and port city of Odesa, killing one person and hitting a maternity hospital, Ukrainian officials said, calling for further sanctions.
