Toronto-based Cinram International has signed a multi-year agreement with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios in Los Angeles for DVD and VHS manufacturing and distribution in the United States and Canada.

With only 100,000 or so S-VHS video recorders in U.S. homes, big software concerns such as CBS/Fox, Vestron and MGM/UA are viewing this technological advance with disdain.
