The Tompkins County Legislature appointed Dan Rosenberg as the county’s Poet Laureate on Tuesday evening. Rosenberg succeeded Janie E. Bibbie to become the 12th Poet Laureate of Tompkins County.

Dr. Melba Joyce Boyd, a distinguished professor, has been named Michigan's third poet laureate. Boyd is an award-winning author with 13 published books and a passion for promoting poetry.
