A fire broke out in an abandoned building next to a 7-11 early Monday in West Sacramento, officials said.

The Metropolitan Fire District, Sacramento City Fire, Cosumnes Fire, West Sacramento Fire, and Manteca Fire were sent to combat the flames around 11 a.m.

The blast was a block north of Christian Brothers High School and was felt as far away as Land Park and East Sacramento.
