The Pickett Fire in Napa County is still raging and impacting air quality across the Bay. The fire started on Thursday afternoon in a rural area North of Calistoga. It's burned through nearly 7 thousand acres and is currently 13% contained. Its cause is still under investigation.
Pickett Fire initially started 2:57 p.m. Aug. 21 in Napa County, California. After being active for five days, it has burned 6,803 acres. A crew of 2,727 firefighters succeeded in containing 17% of the fire as of Tuesday morning. However, the cause is still being investigated.
Crews are working bulldozers, aircraft and hand lines to hold back flames near Calistoga, as evacuation orders remain in place for dozens of residents.
