Kendrick Lamar gained more than a few new fans after his much-talked-about performance in Super Bowl LIX. One supporter who has admired the hip-hop icon way before he took center stage at arguably the biggest sporting event in America, however, is Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink.

Kendrick Lamar is on top of the music world right now, after the Los Angeles-based rapper took center stage during halftime of Super Bow LIX on February 9, where the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 40-22.

“When the [WNBA] draft was going on, we were doing questions on the orange carpet. The question was: Kendrick or Drake?” the Los Angeles Sparks first-round pick recalled on a recent episode of the Straight To Cam podcast. “And everyone chose Drake, and I was the only one that chose Kendrick.”

"I work with Kendrick, and he noticed that you were the only person who [picked] him," an alleged Lamar associate told Brink.
