The New England Patriots seem to have placed an emphasis on experience as they revamp their coaching staff, and that trend continued with their latest hire.
Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz wrote on Twitter/X: "The #Patriots are making a major addition to their coaching staff, hiring former Bills and Jaguars head coach—and highly respected offensive line coach—Doug Marrone to work under Mike Vrabel, per sources (and as @JPasteris_NFL said). Marrone is viewed as one of the very best OL coaches in football."

According to a source, the Patriots are hiring former NFL head coach, offensive coordinator, and veteran offensive line coach Doug Marrone. The 60-year-old coach is best known for being a head coach with the Buffalo Bills (2013-2014) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2016-2020).

The New England Patriots are hiring former Jaguars HC Doug Marrone as their OL coach under Mike Vrabel, according to Pats Pro.  Multiple Patriots reporters have confirmed the news, but haven’t been able to confirm what his job title will be.
His defensive coordinator Terrell Williams joins after a few seasons with the Detroit Lions and previously coached alongside him in Tennessee, and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels returns to New England for his third stint as the team's offensive coordinator.
The Patriots currently have Josh McDaniels as offensive coordinator and Terrell Williams as defensive coordinator. The offensive staff also includes Ashton Grant, who has experience with quarterbacks, and Tony Dews, a running backs coach. The defensive staff includes Zak Kurh, Clint McMillan and Kevin Richardson.
