The San Francisco 49ers' extremely important 2025 NFL draft is in the books. They wound up standing pat with their 11 scheduled selections and will bring their 11-player class to a roster that badly needs an influx of talent after a mass exodus in the offseason.

Watkins projects as a contributor at all three wide receiver spots in the 49ers’ system — a necessity given the team’s lack of depth of talent at the position. He has deep speed to play X receiver, the wiggle and toughness to play at Z, and the explosion off the line and craftiness to play in the slot.

The 49ers selected Rourke knowing he's on his way back from an ACL tear he sustained in 2022 and had surgically repaired after the 2024 season when he threw for a career-high 29 touchdowns. That knee surgery is likely to keep Rourke from making any immediate contributions.
