A new Covid variant, NB.1.8.1, is spreading across the world, with India and other countries in Asia reporting a surge in cases. In the UK, the Health Security Agency confirmed 13 cases of the variant in England in early June, while hospital admissions due to Covid have risen by almost 10 per cent.
