A person has died following the collapse of an 8-foot-deep trench at a construction site in southwest Houston, specifically at Stone River Apartments during a maintenance project.
HOUSTON — Hazmat crews were cleaning up Sam Houston Tollway in north Harris County Wednesday evening. A work truck had spilled hydrated lime, according to Harris County Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman.
Authorities say one crew member was able to escape while the other didn't make it during a trench collapse, which was approximately 8 feet deep.
