Saturday Night Live star Heidi Gardner says she lobbied hard to get Travis Kelce on the sketch-comedy show as a host. She said on a recent episode of Amanda Hirsch’s Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast that she pressured Lorne Michaels for some time before he agreed to invite the Kansas City Chiefs tight end on the show.

The Kansas City Chiefs star made his “SNL” debut in March 2023 after winning his second Super Bowl. He is currently in the hunt for his fourth championship.

The biggest swing I ever did in that department, and it did work, but it took a couple years, was Travis Kelce,” Gardner said on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast (via Deadline) of her push for the host.
