Three-division world champion Julio César Chávez has defended his same-name son who was arrested by U.S. immigration agents outside his home in Los Angeles for overstaying his visa and lying on a green card application.

Chávez, once the world middleweight champion, was detained by immigration officials in California. He is wanted on organized crime charges in Mexico, DHS says.
