Devin Haney defeated José Ramírez via unanimous decision (119-109, 119-109, 118-110) on Friday evening in New York City's Times Square. This match was part of an outdoors event that also featured Ryan Garcia facing Rolly Romero and Teofimo Lopez fighting Arnold Barboza Jr.

The fight with Ramirez is Haney's first since his April 2024 showdown with Ryan Garcia. On that night, Haney was knocked down three times and lost a majority decision to Garcia, who closed as a roughly +650 underdog after a week where he seemed to be having a public breakdown, was drinking and missed weight.

Devin Haney hadn't fought since getting knocked down several times against Ryan Garcia last year. Dealing with legal matters and the injuries suffered at the hands of Garcia, Haney was ready to face "King Ry" in a rematch.
