It's almost time for fireworks to light up the sky around San Diego! Why it matters: Fourth of July weekend draws hundreds of thousands of locals and visitors to the beaches, bays and parks, and they're looking for a show.

With nearly all of the aerial shells, paper rockets and sparkly fountains that fuel America’s Fourth of July celebrations being imported from China, volunteer groups like Johnson’s and cities big and small have been closely watching the negotiations.
