Boston Police Officer John O'Keefe, his girlfriend Karen Read and a group of other friends, including fellow officers, went out drinking at C.F. McCarthy's bar in Canton, Massachusetts at around 9 p.m. A major snowstorm had begun.

Friends and relatives of Boston police Officer John O’Keefe believe the acquittal of Karen Read was unjust and the celebrations that ensued were “disgusting.” The slain officer’s college pal John Jackson said O’Keefe’s family heard Read’s supporters cheer when her nearly eight week retrial ended with not guilty verdicts on second degree murder and manslaughter charges.

Former CBS News legal analyst Rikki Klieman, who's covered the case extensively, said Karen Read's trial was "riddled with reasonable doubt."
