With all of the attention at Nashville Predators training camp focused on new additions Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault, and Brady Skjei, some returning players might go unnoticed until they prove themselves noticeable.

Spencer Stastney, a 24-year-old defenseman, was awarded a two-year contract with the Nashville Predators after arbitration this summer.

The Nashville Predators announced Thursday that defenseman Spencer Stastney will be absent from training camp for personal reasons. Stastney is one of the 63 players on the Predators' training camp roster but was not listed among the three practice groups for the start of Thursday's on-ice sessions, despite being under contract with the team.
