South Korea's President Yoon Suk Yeol faces a new and potentially more robust attempt to arrest him on insurrection charges after a top investigator vowed to do whatever it takes to break a security blockade and take in the impeached leader.

South Korea’s anti-corruption agency says it has received a new court warrant to detain impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol after its previous attempt was blocked by the presidential security service last week.

Yoon has been lying low at his official residence in Hannam-dong, an upscale district popular with business tycoons and celebrities known as Korea's Beverly Hills. Meanwhile, investigators seeking to question him on allegations of insurrection have struggled to execute a warrant for his arrest.
