A video of fire ants 'rafting' on Queensland floodwaters has gone viral on social media, prompting concerns that the invasive species will enter NSW in the aftermath of ex-Cyclone Alfred.
“When the water comes through, the fire ants come to the surface, lock their legs together and float with the water as a whole colony to new locations to re-establish themselves,” he said.
