Britain’s Emma Raducanu won an epic battle over eighth-seeded American Emma Navarro at the Miami Open on Friday and said the win meant even more than some of her victories in her famous run to the 2021 US Open title.

After surgeries, setbacks and a drop in the rankings, Emma Raducanu found something familiar -- and fulfilling -- in her win over Emma Navarro in Miami.

Last week in the Indian Wells desert, Navarro lost to Donna Vekic 7-6, 6-1 in the third round after a three-set victory over Sorana Cirstea in her opening match. Raducanu fell in the first round in Tennis Paradise to Japan’s Moyuka Uchijima who went on to give world No 3 Coco Gauff a scare in the second round.
