Florida football found itself overmatched this weekend in Austin, where the Texas Longhorns handily defeated the Gators during Week 11, 49-17, in the first meeting between the two schools on the collegiate gridiron since 1940.

Texas avoided having the Florida game become a trap in the lead-up to the postseason. Texas was seeded sixth in the initial CFP projections.
