Hiring alum Kristen Kelsay and planning to build a new arena, Michigan State wants to build a volleyball contender.

Kelsay is now tasked with reviving the Spartans as their new head coach. The former two-time team captain and assistant coach was hired on Dec. 22 after spending the last two years as associate head coach at Minnesota.

Kristen Kelsay was named the newest head volleyball coach at Michigan State in late December, and on Wednesday she’s being introduced in a press conference. Kelsay is a former MSU volleyball standout and has become the eighth coach in program history.

Mizzou volleyball assistant Arielle Wilson was hired as Central Michigan's coach after spending the last two seasons as the defensive and recruiting coordinator for the Tigers. Wilson inherits a CMU program that finished with a 24-7 record, placing second in the Mid-American Conference with a 15-3 league record in 2024.
