The U.S. State Department announced Tuesday that the United States has decided to exit the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

President Donald Trump has decided to pull the United States out of the "woke" and "divisive" U.N. culture and education agency UNESCO, the White House said on Tuesday, repeating a move he took in his first term that was reversed by Joe Biden.

During the Biden administration, the U.S. rejoined the agency in 2023. But now, just two years later, the current administration has announced its second exit from UNESCO, effective December 31, 2026.
