On Thursday, March 20, the NTSB revealed the MDTA failed to conduct a Key Bridge vulnerability assessment over the years leading up to the collapse.

The National Transportation Safety Board said the MDTA did not run the vulnerability assessment calculation on the Francis Scott Key Bridge.

The vulnerability assessment would look at bridge geometry, clearance, channel size, and channel depth, as well as current security features like dolphin structures to redirect ships.
