Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr asked the state’s Supreme Court to reject Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’s appeal to regain her authority to prosecute President-elect Donald Trump for alleged attempts to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results.

A state appeals court earlier this month removed Willis from the Georgia election interference case against Donald Trump and others, citing an “appearance of impropriety."

Last week, the state Court of Appeals disqualified Willis from the case, ruling that her sexual relationship with Nathan Wade, the special prosecutor she hired to lead the prosecution, constituted an appearance of impropriety.
