The DC Studios show will see Fillion reprise the role of Guy Gardner, which he will play in this summer's Superman movie.

The series, from Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King, follows new recruit John Stewart (Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.

It appears that Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner will fare much better than his T.D.K. did. Fillion’s “jerk” of a Green Lantern, who will make his debut in James Gunn’s Superman movie this July 11, will also appear in HBO’s Lanterns series,
