Lucas Giolito returned to the mound for the Boston Red Sox last week, after over a year on the injured list. He’s been recovering from a UCL tear sustained during spring training. This spring, he was delayed by a hamstring injury.

More than 15 months after signing a free-agent deal with the Red Sox, right-hander Lucas Giolito looked sharp in his long-awaited Boston debut.

It was Giolito's first start for the Red Sox after he signed a two-year, $37 million deal ahead of the 2024 season. Before the 2024 season began, he felt elbow discomfort and eventually had internal brace repair surgery, keeping him out all of 2024.
