Feb 12, 2025 · in the bigger picture there just isnt much to gain for jon. this is a fight entirely for tom. jon was right to say he wanted to vacate and fight someone with legit accolades. toms great but tom hasn't earned the number 1 fight in the ufc. thats just how i see it.

Jon Jones got hurt and Tom won the interim belt and then defended it because Jon Jones was out and then took on a different opponent for a legacy fight. Tom defended while Jon was recovering and fighting his legacy fight, then Jon fought his legacy fight.

At some point they will schedule Aspinall for an undisputed title fight. Even though Jones fought in November, if he's refusing to even schedule a fight by the end of the year, then they will have to strip him early I think.

Nov 2, 2017 · It's a fact he tried to use steroids and had his fights with DC 2 cancelled, sure. And it's a fact he used it in the second fight, sure. But it's not known in anyway whether Jon Jones used it other than to fight DC II, like there were suspensions but the fights were cancelled, so the only fight he actually was confirmed using it was the DC II.
