But I will tell you that 5g is not that much faster unless you are close to the router. You'll have to try it to be sure.

Replied on February 2, 2020. Report abuse. Hi stbartslady. Wireless adapters that are 802.11b/g/n do not support 5Ghz networks, they are not dual band and only support 2.4Ghz networks. You will need to purchase a new network card, they are available fairly cheaply these days from approx. $5+ and that will allow you to connect to a 5Ghz network

Oct 10, 2020 · My PC is not recognizing my home wifi network's 5G (Spectrum). Yes, my PC is 5G compatible but my PC is not picking up the 5G network. Looked at the network adaptors and tried to find the 802.11n mode to see if it was disabled, but there was no option there with that label. Instead I found AdHoc11n and enabled that and restarted my PC.
