Some 465 kilometers North of Fiji lays the beautiful volcanic island of Rotuma. The population of 1901 indigenous people inhabits the 13km long and 4km Island, spread between the 14 villages.

Rotuma lies approximately 465 km to the north of the Fiji Islands. After Rotuma was invaded, its culture is much more in common with Polynesian Tonga and Samoa than Melanesian Fiji.
